After seven years at New Covent Garden Market, MOMO is moving back to South East London. We've taken over the old Brixton Brewery site, just around the corner from the kitchen where it all began. It's going to be a hell of a project.

In just 45 days, we need to move our entire brewery across London.

Why we're moving

It's time for a bigger space

Brixton Brewery is just around the corner from the kitchen where Lisa & Josh started it all.

Our first proper brewery was under the arches in New Covent Garden Market, before we moved to a converted warehouse on the same site a few years ago.

Every time we've moved, the story's been the same: we love the place we've come to call home, but we've outgrown it. This next site is huge, and should have us covered for a good few years.

As well as sheer size, the Brixton Brewery is purpose-built for brewing and will help us make even better kombucha. More fermenting space, a dedicated lab, a proper packaging area, and a beautiful kitchen and events space.

That's the end product. First... the hard bit.

The scale of the task

45 days to move MOMO

We've been working around the clock to brew extra kombucha, to cover us while we shift between spaces. We have about 45 days to move and a lot to achieve in that time:

  1. Build a large cold room from scratch.

  2. Build the new team facilities block, with a kitchen and an open plan office upstairs.

  3. Decommission the existing site at New Covent Garden.

  4. Move every piece of kit across London. Brewhouse, fermenting equipment, packaging line, the lot.

  5. Upgrade the new brewery's power supply.

  6. Recommission everything at Brixton.

  7. Start brewing again.

All that, and at the busiest time of year.

Luckily, we've been preparing for this moment for a while.

We're ready

The kombucha will keep on flowing

Months and months of planning have gone into the move, and we're in a position where we can be confident that there will be zero change to your experience buying from MOMO. We plan for everything to remain in stock throughout the period: we always prioritise customers that buy direct from our website, and subscribers most of all.

That said, it'll be tight, and we hope you'll understand if anything goes awry. We'll keep you updated throughout the process.
